Growing up in and around the Washington D.C. area, Courtney was the 28th member of his family to serve in the military. For Courtney, the military came easy, it was in his blood. The Army provided Courtney the discipline he couldn’t find in the streets of Washington. Courtney’s love for the outdoors comes from years of fishing up and down the east coast with his grandfather, and hunting around the world with his military brethren. If Courtney came across a body of water, he had to fish it.
Courtney served over 20 years in the Army, with several combat and operational deployments around the world before hanging up his rifle in 2018. As a military leader, Courtney has seen and experienced the pains that war have on our troops. Courtney also understands how the silence of nature can bring tranquility where there is chaos.
Now, Courtney calls Colorado home, where he continues to assist in the protection of freedom as a government defense contractor. Courtney still enjoys a good hunt, along with skiing, fly/ice fishing, and competition shooting.
