John grew up in an airline family and moved all over the southeast, finally settling in Georgia. He had always fished in local lakes and ponds but didn’t start hunting until high school. His friends Dad took him under his wing and introduced him to whitetail and dove hunting. Since, he has mostly focused on offshore fishing in the Florida Keys but recently fulfilled a lifelong goal to hunt elk in Colorado and successfully harvested a bear.

John retired from the Army in 2021 after serving for 26 years. He held various leadership positions and deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan. Having just transitioned he knows the unique challenges facing our Veterans as they enter the civilian world. He is passionate about assisting our transitioning members in any way he can.
