Mitch is a 6th generation military member and was born in the upper Midwest state of North Dakota. Mitch’s passion for the outdoors comes from his parents who were avid anglers and spent many days on the lake. Mitch on the other hand went to the extreme other side of the spectrum and began hunting in 1989. Since then, Mitch has hunted across many states, and some countries, in pursuit of the world’s most iconic animals.

After 20 years of faithful service, that included 11 combat / operational deployments, Mitch retired in 2020. He not only understood the sacrifices that our service members made, and the emotional battles they fought each day, but also lived it. Mitch knew that the outdoors had a type of healing effect on him and wanted to share those experiences with his fellow service members, so Heroes’ Harvests was born.

Currently, Mitch spends his time guiding across many western states, but calls Colorado home. Recently, Mitch has opened his own outfitter, Rugged Mountain Outfitters LLC, and began supporting clients in 2022 You will typically find him in the woods, walking a trail, or up on a ridge looking for that next great experience.
